Amanda Derbyshire of Great Britain earned the Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award after winning the $134,000 CSI3* Horseware Ireland Grand Prix held Saturday night, March 16, at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL.

Competition was fierce in an all-female jump-off against Laura Chapot (USA), Vanessa Mannix (CAN), and Amy Millar (CAN), but Derbyshire saved the best for last. Derbyshire returned in the final position and posted a fast clear to win the WEF 10 grand prix riding Roulette BH. She and the 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding (Moschino x Michellino) qualified for “Saturday Night Lights” with a fourth-place finish in the $36,000 CSI3* Equinimity WEF Challenge Cup Round 10 earlier in the week.

In recognition of her Leading Lady title, Derbyshire was presented with a bottle of champagne, bouquet of flowers, and gift certificate for a shopping spree at Hunt, Ltd.

“It’s incredible,” said Derbyshire of her second-ever Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider title after also taking the award during Week 11 of the 2018 season. “To win anything at WEF under the lights with such a big crowd is so special. I’ve been in America for nine years and I spent the first seven watching all these night classes, so to be able to jump in them and win is like a dream come true.”

Part of the elite Douglas Elliman Real Estate Sports and Entertainment division, Jolicoeur was recently named the No.1 realtor in the Wellington market as well as No. 1 in Florida overall. Specializing in Wellington properties, Jolicoeur has supported WEF as an integral sponsor for the past nine consecutive seasons. Throughout WEF, the Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award, given in memory of fellow realtor and horsewoman Dale Lawler, is presented weekly to the high-score female rider based on performances in the weekly WEF Challenge Cup and grand prix events.

With only two weeks remaining in the winter season, the Martha Jolicoeur Overall Leading Lady Rider Award will be presented during WEF 12 to the female rider who accumulates the most points throughout the 12-week circuit. So far this year, Erynn Ballard, Laura Chapot, Margie Engle, Tiffany Foster, Lauren Hough, Eve Jobs, Beezie Madden, Karen Polle, and Jessica Springsteen have earned the weekly honor and have set their sights on claiming the overall title.
