Cosmopolitan 30, ridden by Heather Caristo-Williams of the United States, was named the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award winner during the ninth week of competition at the 2017 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL.

Equis Boutique, a luxury tack and apparel shopping experience, is sponsoring the Best Presented Horse Award at each International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Horse Inspection held throughout the 12-week WEF, as well as at other FEI-sanctioned events throughout the United States.

The FEI Horse Inspection for WEF 9, sanctioned as a CSI5* by the FEI, was held Tuesday, March 7, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). The FEI Ground Jury, led by President Neil O’Connor (USA), evaluated the appearance and condition of 114 horses and selected Cosmopolitan 30, owned by Ralph and Holly Caristo, as the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse.

“This is a great award to have offered, and I am honored to win it,” said Caristo-Williams, who operates Glenview Farm alongside her parents in Saugerties, NY, and Wellington, FL. “I have to thank Equis Boutique for presenting this award, and my sponsors for playing a big role in helping my horses to look their best. Having the horses in good condition and presented well is the first step to a good show. It is important to take the jog seriously and respectfully because you have to look and feel the part to perform the part.”

Cosmopolitan 30, an 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding (Calido I x Ricardo), was prepared for FEI competition during WEF 9 by Caristo-Williams’ husband and fellow Glenview Farm team member, Jesse Williams.

“He is my right-hand man in so many ways,” said Caristo-Williams. “He is always trying to make the horses look and feel their best so they can perform their best. I’m really lucky to have him as my husband, but also to have him help me so much with my horses.”

Cosmopolitan 30’s title marks the third Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award that the couple have won together.  They earned the honor in 2015 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center for their presentation of Qui Vive des Songes Z, and again at the 2016 WEF for their presentation of Freak Out.

“I guess this means I've done a good job!” laughed Williams, who has been a part of the Glenview Farm team for five years. “I work really hard with these horses, so it's nice to be acknowledged like this.”

Williams was recognized for the Equis Best Presented Horse Award with a commemorative vest, while Caristo-Williams was presented with a $100 gift certificate to Equis Boutique.
