For the seventh consecutive year, Laura Connaway of Connaway & Associates Equine Insurance Services, Inc. will present an award to the North American-bred horse who earns the highest-scoring round across all professional hunter divisions and special classes at the Capital Challenge Horse Show running September 24, through October 5, 2025, in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Once the 2025 Capital Challenge Horse Show prize list becomes available on Sunday, July 27, and entries open on Tuesday, July 29, add class 8000 to your entry on Show Management System. No entry fee is required for the award.
Horses bred in Canada, Mexico, and the United States that will be competing in the professional hunter divisions, green hunter 3’ and 3’3” divisions, the North American 3’-3’3” Green Hunter Championship, WCHR Professional Challenge, and the WCHR Developing Professional Challenge at the Capital Challenge Horse Show have the opportunity to earn the Connaway & Associates Equine Insurance Services, Inc. High Point North American-Bred Horse Award providing that their breeding information is correct and up-to-date in the horse show office.
Laura Connaway of Connaway & Associates, who is an amateur show jumper and previously bred her own horses, said, “I’m delighted to continue supporting this fantastic award. Breeders put so much time and effort into their decisions, and it’s important to recognize that. The standard of North American breeding is on the rise, and I am honored to work with the Capital Challenge Horse Show again to sponsor the High Point North American Bred Horse Award for the seventh straight year. As someone who has bred many of my own competition horses, I’m very passionate about breeding responsibly on home soil and recognizing those who continue to produce these lovely horses.”
The 2024 winner of the Connaway & Associates Equine Insurance Services, Inc. High Point North American-Bred Horse Award was Ondine D’Orleans, ridden and trained by Elizabeth (Liza) Towell Boyd of Camden, SC, and owned by Boyd’s Finally Farm and Neill Sites. The 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare by the prolific stallion Vigo D’Arsouilles and out of the Carthago daughter Coco Chanel Z, was bred by Monique Huntington-Keitz, of Beaver Creek, CO. She captured the sixth annual award after scoring an 88 over fences in the Green Hunter 3’6” division.
