The 2025 Capital Challenge Horse Show will begin its 32nd edition at Prince George’s Equestrian Center one day earlier on Wednesday, September 24, for the start of the Equitation Showcase, presented by BIGEQ.com. The Equitation Showcase will continue through Sunday, September 28, followed by the remainder of the Capital Challenge Horse Show on September 29 to October 5, 2025.
The extra day at the start of the Equitation Showcase will help make days easier by starting the Marshall & Sterling Insurance/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Final – East Coast on Wednesday with the horse inspection at 12 p.m. followed by the flat phase at 3 p.m. The gymnastics phase of the class will follow on Thursday, September 25, while the final jumping phase will run on Friday, September 26.
Age group equitation classes will start on Thursday and continue on Friday, with the North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships on Thursday. The Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals will take place on Saturday, September 27, along with the North American League (NAL) Children’s Hunter Finals, and the North American Junior Flat Equitation Championships. Sunday’s highlights include the Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA) North American Junior Equitation Championships and the NAL Adult Hunter Finals.
“We look forward to welcoming all of our equitation riders back to Capital Challenge this year,” said show manager Oliver Kennedy. “We feel that starting a day earlier will make the schedule much easier for the horses, exhibitors, trainers, judges, and staff. Additionally, having the three phases of the USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Final over three days will really make it feel like even more of a championship experience.”
