Hayley Waters and Qurint Wins Equis Boutique “Best Presented Horse” at HITS Ocala Winter Circuit

Hayley Waters of Sparr, FL, won the Equis Boutique “Best Presented Horse” Award with FEI mount Qurint during the CSIO 4* week at the 2016 HITS Ocala Winter Circuit. Equis Boutique presents the award at FEI-sanctioned horse shows throughout the U.S. to celebrate excellence at the FEI Horse Inspection.
At the CSIO 4* FEI Horse Inspection, the ground jury evaluated the turn-out of each horse and rider to determine the Best Presented Horse. Waters, 19, and 13-year-old Swedish Warmblood mare Qurint rose above and were presented with a commemorative plaque by Alex West of Equis Boutique in recognition of the “Best Presented Horse” Award, as well as a collection of products from Equis Boutique partner brands.
“I was dressed in show clothes because I had other horses going that day, so it was great that it worked out that way!” said Waters. “It's a really nice award, and I really like that they do something like that – it's important to be turned out well at the jog.”
Waters' groom Mareleo Castillo worked tirelessly to prepare Qurint for the FEI Horse Inspection and to be in contention for the Best Presented Award.
“He did a lot of work, and I appreciate all that he does,” said Waters of Castillo's efforts.
Waters has moved up to FEI competition over the past year and is consistently competing Qurint at the grand prix level after success in the High Amateur Jumper division last winter. Their top goal is the $100,000 Grand Prix at the end of the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit this spring.
Qurint has been an integral part of Waters' string for nearly three years, and she admits that she likes everything about her.
“She tries so hard and always wants to do the right thing,” said Waters. “She's fast, careful, and obviously beautiful.”
