International List of Course Designers Return for 2023 Fall Classic Series at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington

World Equestrian Center – Wilmington is set to welcome a list of internationally celebrated course designers to the facility for the prestigious 2023 Fall Classic Series. The five-week series will run from September 27 through October 29. All five weeks will include United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Premier Hunter competition with Level 4 jumpers for Week I and II, and Level 5 jumpers for Week III, IV and V. The 2023 WEC – Wilmington Fall Series will feature two $75,000 Grands Prix and more than $1 million in prizes and prize money.

The renowned lineup of course designers include Guilherme Jorge (BRA), Alan Wade (IRL), Anderson Lima (BRA), Bobby Murphy (USA), and Robert Barton (USA).

Resident course designers at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington, Bobby Murphy of Lexington, Kentucky, and Robert Barton of Von Ormy, Texas, will set the opening tracks for the 2023 Fall Classic Series during Week I and Week II.

Guilherme Jorge, an FEI Level IV course designer, will kick off Level 5 jumper competition during Fall Classic III. Jorge has crafted some of the most elite championships around the globe including the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the 2005 and 2007 FEI Jumping World Cup™ Finals; the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; numerous CSI5* events at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada; and the $500,000 Rolex Grand Prix CSI5* in Wellington, Florida.

The first $75,000 Grand Prix of the series will be designed by Alan Wade during Fall Classic IV. Wade has built for prestigious championships such as the 2017 FEI Jumping World Cup™ Finals in Omaha, Nebraska; the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Tryon, North Carolina; and the Palm Beach Masters CSI4*-W featuring the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ in Wellington, Florida.

FEI Level III course designer Anderson Lima will close out the 2023 Fall Classic Series during Fall Classic V in the Standlee Sanctuary. Lima is well known for his tracks at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; the South American Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada. Most recently, he designed the famed $226,000 Sapphire Grand Prix at the 2023 Devon Horse Show.
